Shanghai, China — NorthGlass, a global leader in architectural glass, demonstrated its expertise in pushing the boundaries of design and technology at the recently concluded CTBUH 2025 China Conference in Shanghai. The event, centered on the theme “Transforming High-Density Cities Toward Sustainable Development,” brought together world-leading architectural practices, top academic institutions, major developers, and industry associations to explore sustainable urban solutions.
At the conference, Mr. Li Chunchao, Marketing Director and Deputy General Manager of NorthGlass’ Processed Glass BU, delivered a keynote titled “Beyond Glass — How NorthGlass Empowers High-Rises in Achieving High-Quality Green Development.” His presentation highlighted how NorthGlass combines technological innovation with aesthetic exploration to redefine the physical and expressive possibilities of glass in modern architecture.
“Standards apply to products, but not to art,” Mr. Li emphasized. While technological breakthroughs set the physical limits of glass, aesthetic ambitions drive its artistic expression in architecture. NorthGlass’ approach transforms “non-standard innovation” into high-standard engineering reality, helping architects realize bold and complex visions.

NorthGlass’ impact is evident in landmark projects worldwide, including the National Centre for the Performing Arts, Apple Park, Huawei Headquarters, and the record-breaking façade of Taikang Tower. Most recently, the company produced nearly 70,000 m² of curved glass—including multi-curved, concave, and saddle-shaped geometries—for OPPO Global Headquarters in Shenzhen, showcasing unprecedented fabrication precision and technical sophistication.
Powered by its dual-engine model of equipment and products, NorthGlass has established itself as an industry leader, exporting to over 110 countries. The company’s CTBUH presentation demonstrated not only its technological and aesthetic capabilities but also the growing role of Chinese glass manufacturers in shaping the sustainable, high-density cities of the future.
