Ximin Glass Egypt has begun construction on a $70 million glass factory located in the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE).
The plant is a joint project between Elsewedy Industrial Development and Xinmin Glass Egypt, a subsidiary of Chinese parent company Anhui Xinmin Glass.

The factory will produce glass tableware, borosilicate products, and kitchenware. It will have an annual capacity of over 516 million pieces and is expected to generate more than 3,000 jobs.
The first phase scheduled to commence operations in July 2026. The groundbreaking ceremony took place in Sokhna 360, the integrated industrial city developed by Elsewedy Industrial Development within the Sokhna Industrial Zone.
The ceremony was attended by Major General Tarek El Shazly, Governor of Suez; Capt. Ahmed Gamal, SCZONE Vice Chairman for the Southern Area; Mr Mostafa Sheikhon, SCZONE Vice Chairman for Investment and Promotion Affairs; and representatives of the industrial developer and Anhui Xinmin Glass.
